Abstract
1282151 Knitting-machines. W REINERS 29 Aug 1969 [4 Sept 1968] 43073/69 Addition to 1272785 Heading D1C In a modification of the warp machine of the main parent Specification weft threads to be inserted are selected, and taken in an elliptical path 318 by either of two guides 312, 312' at the ends of arms 308, 308' rotating relative to arm 301 as it too rotates. Adjacent one selvedge the threads f, f' are fed across a rotating housing carrying four hooks 334-337. The operative thread f is laid across hooks 335, 336 by guiding means 332-3 in a position where it can be engaged by a guide 312 and thence drawn in a loop across the machine. The inoperative thread f' is held out of reach of the guide. The hooks maintain their disposition during rotation of the housing, the forward one 335 moving to the position of 334 to carry one leg of the loop over the needles. At the opposite selvedge the loop is deposited on another hook which carries it across behind the needles. The thread guiding means are selectively moved by a pattern mechanism.
