Abstract
The zinc alkaline electric cell has a plastic cylindrical case (1) with an opening on one side and a plastic cover (3) on the other. The case contains a positive electrode (6) of porous carbon, a collector grid (2) and a connecting lug (4) in contact with the positive electrode (2). The cell also has an electrolyte jelly (7) layer of an alkaline solution, a negative electrode (8) of pulverized zinc in suspension in a jelly similar to the jelly of the electrolyte, another electrolyte jelly layer (9) and a perforated plate (0) in contact with this layer of electrolyte (9). An expansion chamber (12) is provided between the perforated plate (10) and the cover (3) of the cell. The perforations of the plate (10) allows any expansion of the jelly during discharge of the cell. A connecting wire (5) is embedded in the negative electrode (8).
