Abstract

A test bench which measures braking torques or speed and power at the wheels, has a pair of parallel rollers and unlike existing test benches, is suitable for all these measurements. A test bench with a chassis containing the rotating parallel rollers has a flexible bar for detecting braking torques. This bar is firmly mounted on the chassis and to the roller driving motor housing. A probe attached to the bar converts torque into an electric signal to drive a motor with pointer and scale attached. Speed is indicated by the output of a dynamo mounted at the end of one of the rollers.
