Abstract

The device comprises a camera with an electrical trigger, a vehicle detection device generating an electronic pulse when the vehicle passes a given point on the road. A vehicle speed measuring device provides an electronic signal proportional to the vehicle's instantaneous speed. An integrating circuit, controlled by the pulse, integrates the speed signal, and a threshold circuit, which receives the integrated signal, and provides, when a certain threshold value is attained, an order to trigger the camera. The speed measuring device is a radar unit (3) and this, together with the camera (6) are mounted on a tower at the side of the road.
