Abstract

The lightweight prefabricated or semi-prefabricated building component can be used as a support or as a non-structural partition. It is of small thickness and has great heat insulating capacity. Its reinforcement is in the form of one or more cloths in the cladding applied to one or both faces. It is particularly for the construction of partitions, or roofing where heat insulation is required. The core of the partition is made of polystyrene or other heat insulating material, and the cladding provides mechanical strength and may be proof against the weather. One or more layers of cloth are used, and these may give high tensile strength.
