Abstract

The differential refractometer comprises a collimator (1) with objective (11) and a luminous market (12) at the focus of this objective. An eyepiece (4) comprising an objective (41) produces an image (5) of the marker (2) and the displacements of the marker image are recorded by a measurement system (6). Light rays from the objective (11) of the collimator are deviated by by an optical system (7) so as to be directed along the optical axis (44) of the eyepiece objective (41), the deviation being obtained by reflections from two plane mirrors (71, 72). The prism mounting (3) is similar to that found in conventional refractometers and comprises a measurement prism (31) and a reference prism (32) and is placed on the light path between the deviation system (7) and the eyepiece system (41).
