Abstract

The pasty product is extruded through a pistol to which it is supplied via a passage from a reservoir through a non-return valve. There is a short branch section (11) downstream of the non-return valve (5), and sufficient pressure can be applied to the reservoir (3) to fill the passage, the branch section and the pistol, but not to extrude the material through the latter. Extrusion pressure is exerted when desired at the end of the branch section. Pressure control can be by the pistol trigger (14), which in the normal position prevents pressure being applied at the end of the branch section which contains a piston subjected either to atmospheric or compressed air pressure.
