Abstract
The trough is made of reinforced concrete and cast in sections. The underside of the trough is horizontal whilst the bottom of the trough itself is curved with sides that slope away from the vertical. The outer sides and ends of the trough are vertical and two sections of the trough fit together via a tongued profile. The axial centre-line of the trough is curved to a circle of 10/1 to 20/1 giving an angle formed between sections of 10 deg. to 30 deg. although 12 deg. to 22 deg. is preferred. This curved trough replaces previous technique in underground installation of building a concrete raft and a brick trough on the curved section.
