Abstract

Coalmining machine for rise faces in (semi) steep seams is guided along the conveyor at right angles to this by means of a sled travelling the conveyor for this purpose. The machine guide is linked to the sled through a hinged adapter member which allows articulation round an axis parallel to the conveyor and/or at right angles to this and can be locked in adjusted settings. It is preferable for the guide to be mounted on a cross-conveyor which enables the machine to travel along in both directions. The preferably L-shaped sled involved in the system should have a longer leg guided on the face conveyor at the face and a short leg which is hinged to the adapter round an axis lying parallel to the main face conveyor.
