Abstract
In the prodn. of heat exchangers by soldering a stack of solder-coated light metal heat exchange plates, flux is applied as a thin film only on the faces to be soldered by painting or spraying, pref. by printing or roller coating, or by application through a mask. The process is esp. used in mass prodn. of oil and water coolers and heaters for vehicles. The process units the amt. of flux, thus protecting appts. from flux attack and reducing soldering costs.
