Abstract

The power take-off device is designed for use with the pivoting type bogie. One of the axles (3) of the bogie carries a driving drum, in two halves (10, 10') which are secured in place at each end by volted flanges (11). The drum surface is curved to match that of the radius of oscillation of the bogie and is adjustable by screws (22) engaging blocks (20) clamping onto the axle (3). On the wagon (E) is a pivoting arm (30) with a friction wheel (32) at the lower end, the friction wheel being held in contact with the drum by a spring (35). This wheel drives a pulley (33), a belt (34) and the power take-off pulley (33) on the wagon.
