Abstract

Duplexing arrangement is intended primarily for telephonic communication systems where multiplexing of very short (m.m.) wavelengths are employed. The design aims to overcome the critical positioning problems of coupling holes normally employed where two circular waveguides meet tangentially. The duplexer splits the frequency band; 31 to 60GHz into two sub-bands about a critical frequency, Fc, 46GHz. The input frequency arrives in T EPSILON o1 mode in a circular cross section waveguide into which merges tangentially a low frequency output semicircular waveguide. The two guides continue together as a single circular guide separated by a longitudinal diaphragm pierced by appropriate coupling holes. Construction of this guide provides a pass band filter connected to a further coupling section outputting the high frequency band via a further semicircular guide.
