Abstract

The two sets of stacked ferrous plates, lying transverse to the longitudinal axis of the coil are held together by a surrounding metal band, such that the core has two winding apertures, either side of a central arm (822) with a rectangular winding (1) passing through the apertures. This is insulated by an insulating band (2) surrounding the central arm (822), with its longitudinal edges folded over the winding at the interior of the core. At least at the front, the centre limb of an I shaped head piece (3.3') formed of an insulating material, is located between the central arm (822) of the core and the insulating band (2). The position of the head piece (3.3') relative to the core, is such that the two cross limbs of the former extend in the longitudinal direction of the coil above the ends of the winding (11, 12) extending beyond the core, at least one cross limb carrying two contacts.
