Abstract

The content of particles in suspension in liq. media is determined by measuring photometrically and recording the light intensity of a passing beam of light. The light is produced in the infrared range with a wavelength of 9500 Angstrom and a bandwidth of 200 Angstrom, as a pulsating beam from light-emitting GaAs diodes. This produces a stable light within a fixed range and results in a simple and reliable measurement of the suspended solids content without any chromatic sensitivity.
