Abstract

The damping device for the end of travel of a hydraulic jack has, on the end zones of the cylindrical jacket of the jack, several exhaust orifices which connect annular chambers formed in the end covers of the cylinder and the cylinder chambers, enabling the fluid to flow between one cylinder chamber and the corresponding annular chamber. The sealing of each cylinder chamber is achieved by a cast iron ring which, in operation, successively closes the exhaust orifices. The exhaust orifices are placed in an helical line and the number and diameter of the orifices is dependant on the damping required.
