Abstract

Tool with sliding jaws comprises upper and lower intersliding arms (1, 3) which return down L fashion at their heads to form the jaws, the lower arm also returning down (2) at its heel to form a handle. Operation is effected using a second hand lever (4) which locates close to the primary handle and articulates about a pin (8) traversing the upper slide and about a pin (7) which traverses twin plates (5) which are secured to the lower slide (1). Pref. the first pin (8) is shorter than the second (7). The lower slide embodies an overhead U-section (10) serving to guide the upper slide and a spring (12) maintains the jaws open. Extension bars and magnetic jaws can also be incorporated.
