Abstract

The basic framework for display the paintings etc. comprises a peripheral frame and a raised centre backing which is set at a distance inside the peripheral frame and has a flat front face on which the painting is placed. A peripheral edge runs at right angles to the flat front face with the rear border of this edge connecting the centre backing to the peripheral frame. A separate fastening member can engage with the outer periphery of the centre backing to detachably fasten the painting thereto and has peripheral edges corresponding to those of the backing. The fastening member has an L-shaped cross-section so that an inwardly aligned peripheral lip is formed which covers the front edge of the backing and keeps the painting on the front face.
