Abstract

The box comprises a rectangular base (1), sides (2) and end pieces (5) joined along fold lines (3, 4). The box can be folded flat, using the fold line (6, 7) along the base and up the end pieces, and the diagonal fold lines (9) on the base. At the intersection of the lines (4, 6, 7) and (6, 9) there are holes (8, 10) to assist the folding. Because the box is made of stiff corrugated cardboard a secondary, curved fold line (11) is provided to relieve the stress on the material by progressively transferring the folding action from the fold line (4) to the curved line (11).
