Abstract

The shaft (2) connects the output shaft (1) to the cylinder block (1'). In existing designs the pin (3) fits in a spherical cap (4) which fits in groove (6) cut in the shaft (1). The bearing area which transmts the torque is limited to the area (10) shown by the double cross hatching. The invention proposes using an end cap which is a section of a cylinder with its axis passing through the point (O). This has the effect of increasing the bearing area by the amount shown by the single cross-hatching. This increased area increases the power which can be transmitted permits higher speed and reduces wear.
