Abstract

Electrically insulating socket spanner head, for use with electrically powered tools for operator safety, is of insulating synthetic material (plastic etc), and comprises a solid cylindrical element with hexagonal sectioned separate cavities (14) at each end to house, respectively, nut heads and power tool drive attachments: the gripping faces being lightly inclined towards the cavity exterior to facilitate moulding. Pref. the head is contained in a metallic sleeve (2) augmenting its torsional rigidity, the sleeve not extending to the head end faces so as not to contact the tool or the nut or the latter bearing surface.
