Abstract
A drier for compressed gas comprises a first heat exchanger comprising a housing, a first tube unit inside te housing constituting a first gas path between them, and a second tube unit inside the first and constituting a second gas path between first and second tube units; the housing forms a chamber for collecting precipitated liq. from the gas, the first and second gas paths being in communication. A second heat exchanger reheats the gas cooled in the first. The gas leaving the chamber of the first heat exchanger passes spirally through a tube, where it is divided into high and low temp. gas flows, the low temp. gas being supplied to the second gas path as coolant. This tube is housed inside the second tube unit and thereby constitutes a third gas path in communication with the discharge passage for the gas which has been heated in the second heat exchanger. The second heat exchanger consists of a third gas path, the above tube and a cylindrical space, so that the gas cooled in the third gas path is heated by the gas in the cylindrical chamber; the inlet for the first entry of gas is coaxial with the outlet from the second heat exchanger. Appts. is for producing dry, compressed gas for coating, chemical, mechanical and textile or foodstuffs inds. The entire cooling drying and reheating apparatus is compact and can easily be incorporated into a pipeline.
