Abstract

The bottle is used to hold and pour thick syrupy liquids and drinks, such as sherbet. The bottle is pear shaped, with a flat base and an elongated neck (3). Its top (7) has a groove (6) formed between annular ribs (4, 5). The closure is a one piece plastic moulding; the cap (8) fitting into the top of the bottle, with the seal (9) forming a skirt around the top. An internal rib (10) in the skirt locates in the groove in the neck. A pull ring (12) breaks the skirt at a predetermined point and seal and cap can be removed. The flat base is reinforced by circumferential grooves.
