Abstract

An arrangement for assembling a submerged pump into a vessel contg. a pressurised fluid such as liquified petroleum gas, comprises a sleeve having a flanged end projecting above the vessel, and a lower end close to the bottom of the vessel forming a double seated valve which is opened when the pump is in place and closed when the pump is partially withdrawn. The pump is assembled in a flanged cylinder which slides into the sleeve and has passages through its bottom end to the pump inlet and a channel from the pump outlet to a connection above the top end of the cylinder housing. The pump is readily accessibl at all times for inspection and maintenance without the need to empty the vessel.
