Abstract

Installation for heating or cooling of a room, with pipes extending into the room via holes in the room walls, comprises a box which encloses with clearance at least one of the pipes extending out of the room as sealed around the opening in the outer wall of the room. A ring-shaped packing seals the clearance between the box (7) and the pipe (1) and allows relative axial movement of the pipe in relation to the box through thermic expansion or contraction. The ring-shaped packing which is spring loaded and thus pressure force is exerted on the packing between the pipe and the box, incorporates a membrane (21) which seals the outer surface of the pipe at room temperature with some clearance and at higher temperature seals tightly.
