Abstract
The process is particularly for the manufacture of gas bottles, and starts with two flat discs. The top half is formed in a hydraulic press into a rounded or elliptical body (1) with a protrusion at the top extending to the outside. After this, the top half is placed in a hydraulic press which inverts the protrusion so that it extends inwards. By changing the punches in the same press, the component can be deepened and reduced in diameter, after which there can be a further change of punches to reduce the diameter again and form a cylindrical section, which can be tapped.
