Abstract

Vegetable crop-drying plant in which matl. to be dried is carried on a horizontal infeed conveyor to an elevator which lifts the material to gravity feed paired, hollow rotors between which the material is chopped and compressed into agglomeration before being charged in to a superimposed set of horizontal, screw conveying tubes conveying in series into final agglomerating rollers; the conveying tubes are enclosed in a chamber and the plant comprises a hot gas generator from which hot gas is blown through the hollow rotors and the chamber around the conveying tubes. The plant is used in the drying and agglomerating and vegetables, partic. grass for fodeer.
