Abstract

Plasters of controlled proportions of hemihydrate, anhydrous CaSO4, and soluble plaster (CaSO4.epsilon H2O) are obtained from a mixt. of hydrated calcium sulphates or crude natural or synthetic gypsum by a single furnace treatment followed by treatment of different parts of the batch in different silos under different humidity conditions to obtain fractions with controlled amounts of hemihydrate, soluble plaster and anhydrous plaster. Only one furnace with associated plant is required to obtain any kind of mixture of the three plaster components.
