Abstract

The wagon consists of a chassis which is a single beam (3) supporting a super-structure (S). This is box type and has the usual fittings for normal use. The chassis has two stronger parts (1) at each end, acting as transoms and resting on bogies (2). A locating pin (7) is fitted to the centre beam and further pins (5) to the end members. These engage with corresponding recesses (8) and (6) in the body. The body can securely locked so as to take a shape of traction and buffing loads. Removal and re-location is simple. The end parts absorb shocks and have brackets (11) engaged by hooks on the ends of the superstructure.
