Abstract

The parent patent describes a type of packing for bottles where these are held in place by forcing the neck of the bottle through a tight hole which then grips the bottle. The hole are part of a single sheet. This gripping may slow down the packing rate where high speed packing lines are used and the present addition suggests that the bottle necks should be pressed into a semi-circular slot which would shorten the positioning time of the bottles in the pack. The bottles are also held together by strapping them together below the neck. The sheet used may be plastic, cardboard etc. and has an opening allowing the passage of a hand and enabling the package to be picked up.
