Abstract

The chassis of the carrying vehicle has means enabling the hopper pivot axis to be lifted and locked in position, it is automatically re-locked when it returns to its normal position. The hopper swivels on a solid horizontal shaft, guided in lateral guides. Swivelling can be in either direction and is easily applied and removed. The lifting mechanism is of the normal hydraulic type, with springs helping to restore the hopper to the lower position. Various alternative forms of locking the hopper are covered. The guides are formed as inclined inwardly facing channels on the chassis frame. The locking may be effected by spring loaded pivoting fingers.
