Abstract

1392826 Tractor trailer couplings; vehicle coupling MARTIN FIALA KG 4 April 1972 [27 Aug 1971] 15314/72 Addition to 1380823 Headings B7B and B7T A tractor 1 and a wheeled loading frame 9 are coupled by a raisable swan neck 2 supported on a turntable 3 carried by an arm 4 pivotable about an axis 5 under the control of a lifting cylinder 6 and a coupling jaw 11. The jaw 11 has a larger cross-section than the tongue 8 of the swan neck 2, the tongue being locked to the jaw by an elongated catch 15 engaging a recess 17 in the tongue 8 when the swan neck is raised. A lower support 14 in the form of a cylindrical bolt engages the lower side of the tongue 8. The positions of the catch and recess may be transposed with respect to the jaw and tongue, Fig. 3, 6 and 7 (not shown) or the catch may have a semi-circular cross-section 33, Fig. 8.
