Abstract

The cable is wound onto a cylindrical drum, passing under a holder roller, whose axis is parallel to that of the drum, which is supported between the ends of two arms, a spring or other suitable device acting between the drum frame and the arms to press the roller against the cable. The distance between the arms is less than that between the drum flanges, and there is at least one roller between each arm and the inner flange face. This is coaxial to the holder roller and of the same diameter. The sum of the widths of the rollers is essentially the same as the difference between the distance between the arms and the distance between the flanges.
