Abstract

The wedge has a lower toothed surface and a longitudinally extending neck above which is an enlarged head. The wedge is inserted in the wedge shaped opening in the housing and its toothed edge engages the wire or cable which passes through the opening, relative sliding between wedge and housing locking the wire or cable in position. The housing is longitudinally slotted and this slot receives the neck of the wedge and thus guides the latter. Pulling on the wire or cable increases the wedging action.
