Abstract

The cable connector, for insulated cables, eg with a solid aluminium core, comprises a U-shaped conductive element (1) and a cover element (2), which fits across the top of the two limbs (5, 6) of the U-shaped element (1). The cover element (2) prevents relative movement of the two limbs (5, 6) of the U-shaped element (2), with two longitudinal slots (3) adjacent the top of each limb (5, 6) into which a peripheral lip of the cover element (2) fits. The inner surface of one limb (5) of the U-shaped element has two projecting points (8) which pierce the insulation (13) of a cable (12) inserted within the U-shaped element (1) and pushed towards this limb (5) by a screw clamp (10) passing through the opposing limb (6).
