Abstract

A yoke 16 is mounted on shafts cantilevering from the substructure 10 and under braking action from hydraulic piston cylinder 32, causes supported counter mounted pad shoes 46, 48 to converge axially and bear on the disc. The inner shoe 46 is mounted slidably on two sub shafts 36, 38 which emanate from recesses in the yoke body, and have axes in a plane passing through the centre of the pad area and normal to a radial plane radiating from this centre and have disc orientated 'free' ends. Shoe spacing is dictated by new lining thickness and a yoke aperture permits radial shoe extraction.
