Abstract

The buoy is a hollow sphere, weighted in the lower half to enable it to float upright. The access hatch in the top is watertight. The sphere is suspended from a fixed point in the parent ship, and can be lowered into the water by an unwinding mechanism inside the sphere. In the ship has a list then the sphere roles into the sea from a roller conveyor, which guides it over the side. The passengers occupy fixed seats inside the sphere which can be arranged in tiers. The sphere is driven by a battery powered steering propeller; radio and provisions are provided. The sphere's launching gear is protected from the weather when not in use.
