Abstract

1432585 Stabilizing marine craft M HASHIMOTO 18 May 1973 [31 May 1972] 28343/73 Headings B7A and B7M A flexible stabilizing strip 2 projects from an inflatable raft 1. The strip may be made of rubberized fabric and may be attached to the raft or may be integral with the bottom e of the raft. The strip may include tubes (3), Figs. 2 and 3 (not shown), which are inflatable along with the body of the raft. The effect of the strip 2 is to inhibit the lifting or overturning of the raft due to wind. The strip tends to stay in contact with the water so that a low pressure area is formed under the raft to maintain it in its normal attitude. The effect is increased if the outer edge of the strip 2 is slightly turned down, Fig. 3 (not shown).
