Abstract

The electrical socket, for partition walls in buildings with current rails, has an insulating base plate (3) -- with grooves (5) on its inside surface and holes (4) passing through it -- and an insulating upper block (6) wit dividing walls (7) forming cavities (8) when inserted into the base plate grooves. Spring contacts (9) are located inside the cavities and connected along one side to current supply rails (13) in each cavity. Another set of holes in the upper block permits a plug pins (15) to be inserted from one side whilst the lower holes allow pins (16) to be inserted from the opposite side. Each spring contact consists of a metral sheet folded to form two spring arms (one for the rail and the other for the plug's pin) and having a hole in the bottom for the lower plug's pins.
