Abstract

The method generally applies to the fixing of two panels roughly at right angles and is suitable for the attachment of sign boards (e.g. Driving School) to the metal roofs of vehicles. The sign board is held by two right angled brackets to a magnetic foot. Between the board and each bracket is an elastic pad to each face of which is bonded a metal plate integral with screws. Nuts complete the assembly. As the vehicle moves forward, air pressure exerts a couple on the board tending to pull the magnetic feet off the roof, but the rubber pads allow the board a considerable degree of tilt eliminating the risk of coming adrift.
