Abstract

The rectangular frame can be easily attached to the body or chassis via suitable flexible mountings. The torsion bars themselves are housed in, or along, the longitudinal members of the frame. They are fixed at one end to the frame and at the other end to the swinging arms carrying the wheels. An elastic ring is placed over the torsion bars at the suspension end to damp out vibrations. The complete assembly is easily attached to, and detached from, the vehicle. The longitudinal members of the frame are tubular and surround the torsion bars over their whole length.
