Abstract
The embankment is formed using walls assembled form multiple plates with overlapping ends. Extending between the plates on either side of the embankment are horiz. cords which are connected to one wall only. These cords may be knotted polypropylene or thermo-plastic chains which provide the required reinforcement and oppose movement between the walls. The system allows the construction of very high embankments for rural roads which may be subject to flooding or to landslides from nearby slopes etc.
