Abstract

Catalyst to improve soil fertility comprising a powdered compsn. of silica and appropriate minerals and/or elementary carbon. The compsn. is cheap and readily available in large quantites. Prefd. compsns. contain colloidal forms of metals such as salts and oxides, e.g. oxides of Zn, Ni, Co, Mo, Fe, Mn, Cu; and K2SO4, K3(PO4)2, Mg3(PO4)2, bound by physico-chemical bonds to the silica, opt. with lignite or graphite. The compsn. is rendered friable by rapid cooling from the fused state, then ground.
