1348702 Mixed metal hydroxycarbonates BADISCHE ANILIN- & SODA-FABRIK AG 25 June 1971 [27 June 1970] 29831/71 Heading C1A [Also in Division C3] Mixed metal compounds, which may be heated to form materials suitable as catalyst supports (see Division C3), have the general formula (M<SP>II</SP>) m .(M<SP>III</SP>) n .(OH). o (CO 3 ) p .(H 2 O) q where M<SP>II</SP> and M<SP>III</SP> represent divalent and trivalent metals, or mixtures of such metals, respectively and m, n, o, p, and q are integers within the following ranges: m=1 to 10; n=2 to 5; o=2 to 24; p= 1 to 3; q = 0 to 10, and are such that 2m + 3n = o + 2p = 8 to 26. They may be prepared by precipitation from an aqueous solution of watersoluble salts of M<SP>II</SP> and M<SP>III</SP> in the appropriate proportion by addition of an equivalent amount or a slight excess of an aqueous solution of an alkali metal bicarbonate. Various specific mixed compounds are referred to which contain a total of up to five different metals selected from: (M<SP>II</SP>) Mg, Co, Ni, Zn, Cu, Mn, Be, Ca and (M<SP>III</SP>) Al, Cr, Fe, Mo, W.
