Abstract

End-to end tube connector consists of flexible sleeve slit along its length, which is mounted over the tube ends, and two concentric slit metal sleeves. Tightening bolts compress one metal sleeve on to the other, which then compresses the flexible sleeve against tubes. Care must be taken that compression fully closes the slit in flexible sleeve. A metal link can be included to ensure electrical continuity. The tightening bolts pass through two adjacent flanges which extend generally radially from the longitudinal edges of the slit on the outer sleeve.
