Abstract

The body, based on Mg silicate, contains by wt. 5-20 (10-15)% spinel (MgO, Al2O3) prepd. beforehand, with a grain size of 0.4 (0-2)mm. It overcomes the disadvantages of olivine-based refractones, viz. bad resistance to temp. variations, diminution of refractoriness, and low corrosion resistance.
