Abstract

Fluid bed cooling equipment for foundry sand comprises a fluid bed chamber with an upper suction chamber and a suction aperture. Under the main chamber is a distribution trough which guides the air stream from a ventilator through the perforated bottom of the chamber which is pref. inclined. The sand is fed in at the front onto pref. a fast moving inclined moving belt, which throws the sand into the air stream. The equipment has a very fast cooling action and a high capacity. It is for use in sand foundries for cooling sand from used casting moulds.
