Abstract

Box is partic. intended for use in the mfr. of confectionery articles cast in starch. The box is pref. made of wood, held together by dovetails or pegs and assembled on a base by tongues and grooves. If the wood is ply-wood or chip board then the box can be used after a min. storage period and other methods of assembly are available e.g. single or multiple mortising. Fixing to the base can be effected, not only by adhesives or pegs, but by screws or clips. The screws and fixing clips are pref. non-metallic unless they do not come into contact with any substances placed in the box. Chip board panels have good qualities of dimensional stability and workability. Use of the ply-wood or board simplifies prepn. and working, giving improved regularity and precision.
