Abstract

Friction false twisting unit of the known type has circular discs mounted on at least two parallel, rotatable shafts, the edges of which have contact paths running at a pitch angle of at least 10 degrees to the disc surface, but in which the spacing of the path sections in orthogonal section is 0.05-1.0 and more esp. 0.1-0.2 times the disc thickenss and the disc edges have a radius of curvature 0.5-5.0 and more esp. 1.0 times the disc thickness, while the pitch angle of the contact paths is pref.
