Tea pag packet contains black leaf tea (Ie as well as soluble tea powder (II) pref. in o:1 to 12:1 (I):(II) wt. ratios opt as a prod. contg. (I) coated by (II). Tea bag may also contain 2wt.% (w.r.t. tea wt.) buffer e.g. citric or ascorbic acids and their salts, to improve colour of prepd tea. Addn. of (II) improves quality, aroma and colour of a cheap (I) and reduces harsh taste.
