Abstract

Door having a rigid core between two layers of agglomerate made from various by-products and additives, this sandwich being enclosed between metal sheets covered externally with a fire resistant coating or cladding. Pref. the agglomerates are loaded with discarded urea-formaldehyde resin, ground PVC, sea shells and scrap mineral wool and impregnated with phenolic resins, starches and flame retardants and are expanded by foaming. Pref. the rigid core is made of similar aggregate coupled with a hard plaster or reinforced with glass fibres. Pref. the metal sheets are Al, and all interfaces are bonded.
